did you make an armature for this? 
I'm always in doubt as to when one should make an armature or how strong should it be. 
I did two sculptures in school, I'm by no means an expert in fact as a completely neophyte XD

Hello, I am from the future! You've probably forgotten this post entirely.

If making an armature bothers you, and it is a pain in many ways, you could use other materials. Casteline doesn't need armature, but I'm finding Cx5 by Adam Beane is the best of all. It's just like a clay when warmed in an electric skillet, and turns to liquid at high temperatures. At any room temp, it's like an ultra-hard plastic, and unlike wax and wax-like polymers it can never get too hot for it in a room.

Very well for a first try. :) it implies nice soft feeling and if you make the wrist of the girl a bit more gentler, it would become even softer.
